有人说，这首歌是美国迷茫一代的心声，他们不知何去何从，他们想寻找出路，他们也曾想奋斗，但是黑暗的长路，似乎永远让人看不到亮光。低沉的回音，配上略快的节奏，好像是一个孤独的小孩儿，在孤独地寻找生命的真谛。
他们不知答案在哪里，即使找到了，他们也会无数次怀疑。他们不愿再继续做没有灵魂的游行者，他们不愿再沉迷于单纯的感官享乐，他们在探求世界，在探求人本身。有时，他们会认为自己是在迷雾中，寻找迷茫，无助感从心底涌出。
若交友是为了不孤独，那么他们宁愿独自在路上行走，他们在孤独中寻找生活的意义与方向。
